(getting beyond) Doomsday Scrolling
An evening of theatre, discussion, art and activism in solidarity with Ukraine and its refugees
SUGGESTED DONATION $50
but all are welcome, whatever you can give
Presented by AnomalousCo
In association with The Center at West Park
International, transdisciplinary theatre collective AnomalousCo invites you to a pay-what-you-can performance event for refugee relief and to raise awareness of the issues in play, from the horrific situation of Ukrainians both in the war zone and fleeing it, to the situation of those Russians who stand in opposition to the war under violent oppression, to the global implications of the conflict.
The evening's performance will thread together excerpts from selected anti-war plays with letters and other verbatim text from individuals in Europe and Russia, expressing the complex positions of those caught up in the war, the day’s news events presented in the tradition of Living Newspaper, and live music. A journalist-led discussion with the audience will lead into possibilities for direct action before the end of the evening.
100% of proceeds will be divided equally among:
Razom for Ukraine, providing critical medical supplies and amplifying the voices of Ukrainians
Nova Ukraine, providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine
Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund, providing support to independent artists and cultural NGOs in Ukraine.
Donations for this event will be accepted until 5pm on Friday, March 25.
AnomalousCo is a queer/woman-led transdisciplinary theater collective, collaboratively creating original works of performance at the intersection of drama, new media, circus arts, installation and immersive performance, and music theatre. We are a theater without borders: interdisciplinary, intermedial, international, generating both original and pre-scripted works of performance that engage with the urgent issues of our time. Since 2016 audiences have seen our work across the USA and in Russia, Poland, France, and globally online.
