In support and anticipation of the virtual-world-premier of Debra Ann Byrd's multimedia theatrical production BECOMING OTHELLO: A Black Girl’s Journey, The Center at West Park is proud to present a unique panel discussion that brings together five acclaimed actresses who took on and mastered the challenge of playing Shakespeare's titular Othello.
The evening's panel will be lead by Moderator Brenda Thomson, AZ Humanities Executive Director and features panelists from across the nation, including: Fran Bennet (1994); Marishka S. Phillips (2004); Debra Ann Byrd (2013); Jennifer Lanier (2018); & Phedre N’Goua (2019), who will share their thoughts, feelings and varied experiences of playing Shakespeare’s Othello.
