(beyond) Doomsday Scrolling:

An anti-war performance and discussion in solidarity with Ukraine and the world’s refugees

SUGGESTED DONATION $50

International theatre collective AnomalousCo invites you to a pay-what-you-can anti-war performance to raise awareness, to raise funds, and to stand in international solidarity with Ukraine and against divisions being sown between peoples. With music, poetry, verbatim and dramatic text from Ukraine and elsewhere around the globe, this production features performances by Odessan singer, Lesya Verba, and Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Italian, Icelandic, Cuban, and US-ian actors. Join us in honoring the bravery of the Ukrainian people, bearing witness to the experience of those both in and fleeing the war zone, and bridging the crisis in Ukraine with the larger, global landscape of rising authoritarianism and human displacement.

The event will be preceded by streamed presentations by journalists covering both the crisis in Ukraine and the violent repression of anti-war dissidents in Russia, and close with a discussion between audience and performers. Paintings and posters by Ukrainian artists will be available for purchase.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

ANOMALOUSCO is a predominantly queer/woman-led transdisciplinary theater collective, collaboratively creating original works of performance at the intersection of drama, new media, circus arts, installation, and music. We are a theater without borders: interdisciplinary, intermedial, and international, generating both original and pre-scripted works of performance that engage with the urgent issues of our time.
