INFERNO

  • The Center at West Park 165 W 86th Street New York United States (map)

The Russian Arts Theater and Studio joins The Center at West Park to present INFERNO, based on the first part of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, translated from Robert Torrance’s A New Translation in Terza Rima.

This play will take place at the historic Sanctuary Space at West Park Presbyterian Church for eight performances only.

Widely hailed as one of the great classics of Western literature, INFERNO details Dante's journey through the nine circles of Hell. After meeting his guide, the eminent Roman poet Virgil, in a mythical dark wood, the two begin their descent through a mysterious world of miserable souls, horrifying tortures, and unending suffering.

This show will feature the design of acclaimed artist Valery Yershov, who wil premiere the longest painting ever created on canvas as the backdrop for INFERNO. The cast features actors Can Denis Erzaim, Michael Anne Hoffert-Cone, Semion Kashirin, Luisa Menzen, Ariel Polanco, Sarah O'Donnell, Tom Schubert and Mark K. Simmons.
